My journey was long, but here I am! Blessed to live on such a beautiful, tranquil island in the Pacific Northwest. Thank you to my sister and her husband for helping me move all my very large furniture, and your loving support! I am now splitting my time between Arizona and Washington. I want to thank all my clients for the work you have given me. It has been an exciting adventure to say the least!
The pic to the right is my very own Cafe Kitchen. LOVE is spelled out in Anthropologie mugs and a oversized clock makes sure I'm always on time! I painted the walls a shade of chocolate and layered various fauxed stripes to create a cottage feeling. I love my petite cucina... and my new loft experience!

Beauty and serenity abound on this tiny island off the coast of Seattle. Island time sets the stage for

beach coming, hiking, biking, shopping and just relaxing. Inspiration is everywhere and I feel blessed!

There are a few upgrades this year as I am breathing new life into my design business! I am blessed to be spending time in the Pacific Northwest's- San Juan Islands with my daughter and time in the Desert Southwest with my family and friends. I am excited to be moving into my Loft Studio in May on the Island, where I will be creating an entire hand painted space for my all new portfolio. I will paint whenever I can, where ever I am! The first place we start is to meet with our client. Discovering their likes and dislikes we then can create a design to suit their needs. Our teen client in Arizona loves fashion and dance, so we started with her personal color pallette. Once we decided on hot pink, black and white, we created a design. What's black and white and pink all over? Ginny's fashionable new room, that's what! Stylish damask bedding is accented with a hot pink hand painted damask headboard wall. Each stencil was then embellished with rhinestones and silver upholstery nails. Couture Artwork hangs over her Vogue mirror and makes the ultimate fashion statement. Travel Inspiration

I took a little trip down memory lane last week and rekindled my love for travel. When I was 20 years old, I traveled around the world for a year. Stopping off for a brief semester of art college in London where I fell in love with the European architecture and the British pubs! I loved seeing all the different cultures, meeting the people and tasting the exotic foods. I remember being mesmerized by the beauty of Thailand and New Zealand. My travels have given me an amazing source of inspiration. I cherish this travel mosaic I created on flickr and had so much fun choosing the photo for each destination. I especially love the picture taken by my sister Polly of the Spanish Steps area in Rome. Travel as seen through my eyes at 20 is so much different then how I view travel today.

Once upon a time there lived the sweetest little princess in Arizona. Her name was Sofia and she dreamed of having the perfect fairytale bedroom. Then one day, toting their ladders and paintbrushes, Bella came along. They designed and decorated a castle headboard lined with the finest fabrics and draped in the fairest pink toile fabric. They embellished her room with the softest shade of pink stripes and rhinestones. When they left, the room of her dreams sat before her. She smiled wildly, wept with glee and lived happily everafter! My dream closet was inspired by the romance of France at the turn of the last century. I adore my petite chandelier, black cabinets and antique hardware. At last! The room is finished. But where is Sarah? She hasn't seen her new room yet... she is on Summer vacation! We can hardly wait for her reponse when she gets back. Inspired by her love of lime green and hot pink, this room comes to life with an oversized argyle pattern on her headboard wall. Wainscotted with black tonal stripes and embellished with rhinestones and silver upholstery nails. Stripes, diamonds, polka dots and stars. So much fun everywhere you look! Love to Dance Girls Room

Jump and jive in this bedazzled girls room fit for a diva or two! A love of dance inspired this design with lots of color, pattern and jazz. Earlier I posted the design and now we are finished! Polka dots and stripes are accented by black. Hand painted lettering was embellished with rhinestones and their names appear like magic! Sarah wanted something special. A room she could hang out in- with her friends and be proud of. A room she could keep clean and make her Mom proud! Well here it is. Inspired by her love for The Jonas Brothers, I designed a space dripping with her personal style. Her love of stars, stripes, hot pink and lime green came to life in this over the top design. Tri-State Surgical Make Over

We are currently working on a project for Tri-State Surgical. Virtually starting with a blank canvas, we added colors, faux finishes and patterns to enhance their existing Santa Fe style building. As we completed our first phase, they have asked us to come up with designs for phase two! We are excited to infuse our color and design and to make a difference in the medical field and in our town. We believe it is important to make your patients feel welcomed and comfortable while they wait for their appointment. Love to Dance Bedroom

Inspired by the funkyness of the 1980's, bedding from JCP and two little girl's love for dance, this design started with a palette of wonderful colors and grew to an explosion of pattern! This is the original design which was created on a mac computer. After many layers of paint, we took the typefonts to our local sign shop -Sundown Signs- and had them make vinyl stickers for the walls. Dr. Bailey is opening a new Cosmetic Surgery office in Bullhead City. He has hired us to add faux finished accent walls to his new space. Go Arizona Wildcats!

The Arizona Wildcats has a huge fan in kingman Arizona. Not only is Charlie alumni to this University, we think he happens to be their # 1 fan! This gameroom was created with his passion in mind. Red and blue school colors border the room and a giant wildcat logo adds to the look. Two walls are painted with tonal red stripes and one accent wall is navy blue with the words "Bear Down" added for impact. Hardwood floors add a basketball court feeling to this fun space. Santa Fe Dream Home

Back in November we posted about a southwestern home that we we're hired to faux finish. The owners wanted a soft leather look on all the walls. The project turned out amazing and as they started placing all their furniture, they decided to hire us to accent some of the pop outs and pot shelves with Santa Fe inspired border designs. Initially we faux finished the entire house and now we are adding the decorative elements like hand lettering and borders, that will make this vacation house a "home". This ultra dreamy bedroom was created with love for a special little girl in the softest shades of pink and cream. The castle headboard wall was created from foam, hand painted and then draped with a gorgeous toile fabric and upholstery nails. Dramatic tassles and lots of embellishments were added for that extra touch. The rich cherry wood accents the fairytale theme. So sweet and innocent and perfect for Princess Sophia!

The Royal Birthday bedroom is complete, and our sweet client couldn't be happier! Hot pink, black, silver metallic and white cover every wall, plus the ceiling in this couture bedroom. A Royal Birthday Present

Our client Mindy asked us to design a room for her daughter's birthday inspired by the Black Scroll bedding collection at Target. It is so pretty and was fun to come up with a design! Since Alexis loves fashion and flowers, we started there. Sizzling pink walls with a hand painted damask tonal design is a perfect for her headboard wall. The room is wrapped in a tonal black stripe wainscotting and her name is highlighted on her accent wall with a giant monogram "A" and a script font that spells out Alexis. "Girls Rock" and "Royalty" are showcased with rhinestone accents... We will start painting next week and we'll post pics of the exciting room when it is all put back together! Well hello! We have been painting a house that is being remodeled. This has been keeping us very busy, and although there is not much design work, we suspect that the owner will be adding faux finishing and accent walls as the process evolves. We always under estimate just how much our bones will hurt and we can tell you that we won't be seeing our trainer much for the next 2 weeks! Since we're painting the ceilings and baseboards, we feel that is work out enough! The transformation with solid paint alone is so amazing. If you did nothing else, except paint your place, you would be so surprised! Paint can make you look at your tile, carpet and wood tones in a whole new light. You may not have to replace tile or cabinets, as paint reinvents otherwise unacceptable surfaces. We love our job and the difference it makes in our client's homes and offices!

Winter vacation over Christmas and New Year's was great and now we are more excited than ever to get back to it! Time off, although enjoyed, always reminds us just how much we really enjoy what we do. We become more grateful and excited about our future as we progress forward. This year started off slow and now it looks like February may be the busiest time ever for us! Meeting with several clients, discussing colors and design and hammering out budgets for the new year. Money is no object when you get to live or work in a beautiful space!

It's always fun to start off the new year with a fresh new color. This year I decided a new look was in order for my office. Inspired by a Tiffany jewelry box, I painted the main wall with surprising results. One quart of paint instantly transformed the space. It feels like Spring and puts a bounce in my step. Pairing it with metallic gold reminds me of the beautiful Tiffany catalog. A silver chandelier dripping with crystals makes me smile and lights up the room with a cheery glow.

Joy Lane Exam Rooms

Inspirational is what comes to mind for the Degler project in Mohave Valley. They are in love with the Arizona desert and the rustic Santa Fe look, and have built the vacation home of their dreams. We have been painting all the walls with a rustic faux finish, which has a similar look to leather. Adding bursts of color in the niches throughout the home. What do you do with all of those cherished family photos? We suggest creating a gallery wall to display your pictures. In this design our clients wanted it to read "Family Memories". We bordered the area with a scroll pattern accented with upholstery nails. And added a subtle stripe design for the background. Over 50 photos in all make this trip down memory lane a pleasure. Creating a mood for a dining area is always fun. Especially when you design for Isabel, who loves color! There's no such thing as too much here. And what wonderful results we achieve when we get to be creative and think outside the box. We loved the outcome, beautiful shady green palm effect. A hand painted scroll wainscotting, and a rusty door color for a look that is so tropical and inviting. Isabel was so pleased that she wants us to come back and help design her kitchen! Hang ten in this crazy colorful space created for a special little girl who loves life. Inspired by the island surf bedding, this room is filled with everything from hibiscus flowers on the ceiling to scallop edged borders. Mix in cool black furniture, a hot pink umbrella and lots of bling. And there you have it... It's shabby, chic and a little surf shack. So island couture, so laid back!

Sports fanatic Bubba Jones has a rival! Someone has a bigger passion
for college basketball. Bella Design Team had to locate the EXACT
colors of red and blue and "close" wasn't gonna work here. It had to be
a slam dunk. No joke. Dark blue and red bands wrap the room in horizontal stripes. Mysterious red stripes accent 2 walls. A solid dark blue wall looks handsome with white and red lettering. And an oversized wildcat logo hangs out in the corner. Dr. Lucero was pleased with the result when he saw the finished project. He was so thrilled that he called his alma mater over to see it. The perfect game room for the ultimate fan and all of his friends and family!

Kool Little Smiles

It is always a pleasure to paint for an audience of children. We recently completed a fun project for a dentist in town. We painted characters parading with great big smiles and beautiful white teeth! And an undersea scene, where the scuba diver is brushing the fishies teeth! The dentists installed a great big play house and gym for their kool little patients. Equipped with a slide and a fort! It does look like the ultimate place for a kid to hang out. We wondered why they didn't have this concept when we were children! Thank you Kool Little Smiles for coming to our town, you are a pleasure to work for and a welcomed breath of fresh air.

Stripes of all Kinds

GIVE us a job and we'll include a striped accent wall somewhere if you'll let us. Serious! Just like the diamonds we love the stripes! We usually paint them in tonal colors, but sometimes we go a bit crazy and have been known to combine colors. We recently finished a master bedroom and one wall was chocolate brown and tan and icy blue colors. Mixed colors give it that painterly quality our clients have come to love. We also adore the very mysterious stripes we create by painting with semi-gloss and flat finish. The same color, just a different finish, so as you walk by the stripes disappear and reappear, like magic.

Take Me Out to the Ballgame

Bubba's Stadium is the PLACE to be no matter what SPORT you watch! This bedroom was CREATED for the future all-star, ball-loving, bat-toting Bubba Jones. Touch down, slam dunk, home run and GOAL are just a few of the sports calls you will see here. Bombay kids bedding was great INSPIRATION for this room. The headboard wall was painted like the quilt in squares with stitching. The closet pops out and was painted to look like a football field with goal lines. Two custom made decals adorn the black closet doors and stand out in the crowd. Pendant flags hang down from the ceiling that was painted baseball mitt leather tan. Loads of color and balls of all kinds make this kids room a HOME run!

There's something about those harlequin diamonds, that we just can't get enough of. They always find there way into our designs! Not only do we love them, but our clients are crazy for them, too! We always reinvent them, and just when you think you are done with them, they re-appear, like magic! We have painted them as black and white traditional, a four color jester design, argyle sweater pattern for a golfer's office, a tri-color for a childs bedroom and an embellished border for a hand painted chair rail. I guess diamond's really are a girls best friend!

We are proud to have been chosen for the new makeover at Mad Dog Fitness. It all started with a few colors. MDF had already established the red, black and gold and we added a few more to the mix! Special care was taken when we created this space for a local Doctors office. The use of rich warm colors, pattern and a subtle faux finish help the patients relax while they wait. We carried the theme through to the nurses station and exam rooms and helped purchase artwork to enhance the overall design.

Le princess Kali's palace started with beautiful bedding from Bombay Kids. The vibrant colors set against black furniture offered great inspiration for this creative design. Each wall is unique in this room. Everything from dynamic stripes to zebra print in tonal pink colors. From diamonds to tassle trims and rhinestone embellishments accent the Paris Chic look. A set of four custom painted canvases hang on the wall with Kali's favorite quote "Girls Rule, Boys Drool"! Her bright pink shabby chic carpet and pop star posters make for the ultimate pre-teen hang out. Fit for a queen really!

JC Beach Hut - Surf's Up!

Today we completed a room for a teenager with a love for the beach. The room was first painted a sand color. We wainscotted the space with a medium brown tone and painted the closet an accent color of chocolate brown. We created a hand painted chair rail and added a shady palm tree effect on the upper walls. The surfer style Pottery Barn bedding accent the space and the Tommy Bahama style furniture and ceiling fan finish the cool beach vibe. Fish netting, seashells and trunks decorate the pot shelf and a hand painted sign above the bed sets the tone for a place to chill out. Surf's Up and we can't wait to see what Jordan will think of his new room when he gets back from his weekend getaway.
